Silim Hill Celebrates Saurabh Subba WBCS A-Grade Examination Success
Academic achievement and community pride came together in Silim Hill under the Tindhare–Mahanadi, Kurseong where residents organised a felicitation programme to honour Saurabh Subba for clearing the prestigious West Bengal Civil Service (WBCS) examination in the A-Grade (Revenue) category.

Saurabh Subba, a resident of Silim Hill in Ghaiabari Gram Panchayat–3, was recognised by villagers, youth representatives and elders for what speakers described as a “moment of pride” for the entire region. Saurabh is the son of Ashok Subba and Sumitra Pradhan Subba. His academic journey began in local institutions, reflecting the role of regional schools in nurturing talent.
He completed his primary schooling at Blue Diamond English School, Tindhare, followed by secondary education at Sonada Model English School. He passed his Higher Secondary examination in 2016 from Pushparani Higher Secondary School, Kurseong. Later, he graduated in 2019 from St. Joseph’s College, Darjeeling, after which he continued preparing for competitive examinations with sustained focus.
Speakers at the ceremony observed that his educational path through hill institutions sends a positive message to students studying in similar settings, showing that consistent effort and discipline can bridge the gap between local schooling and state-level success.
